As of July 15, 2024, Vietcombank has achieved a significant milestone with more than 3 million customers successfully updating their biometric information. Notably, over 500,000 customers have completed the biometric update through the convenient App-to-App connection between the VCB Digibank application and the VNeID application, which is currently the sole method implemented by Vietcombank.
The majority of customers opt for online updates using the VCB Digibank application, either by "scanning" NFC or establishing an App-to-App connection with the VNeID application. Customers visiting the bank's counters for updating their information account for nearly 4% of the total registered customer base.
According to the bank's reports, from July 1, 2024, until now, more than 4 million transactions have been authenticated using biometrics (Facepay) in accordance with regulations. These transactions include money transfers of VND10 million per transaction, money transfers exceeding VND20 million per day, payments for goods and services bills surpassing VND100 million per day, and activation or phone changes using VCB Digibank etc. Transactions authenticated through Facepay represent around 4% of the total financial transactions processed on VCB Digibank.

This places us among the market leaders, according to statistics provided by the State Bank of Vietnam. Vietcombank's proactive approach has enabled us to offer multiple channels and methods for customer registration, such as online registration utilizing NFC 'scanning' technology, online registration through the App-to-App connection with the Electronic Identification Account (VNeID), and registration at nearly 400 transaction points nationwide. Many of our transaction points have extended working hours, including weekends, to support customers in their registration process."
