From October 20, 2023, Thai visitors to Vietnam will be able to use the Thai banking App to "scan" QR codes and make payments at Vietcombank's merchants.

"SCANNING" QR CODES ACROSS BORDERS

From 20/10/2023, Thai tourists can pay at Vietcombank's IT merchants in Vietnam with VietQR logo. A simple checkout experience will help retailers attract more Thai customers, thereby increasing sales revenue and increasing benefits for sellers such as:

• Transactions are conveniently and quickly finish in just a few seconds
• The foreign currency conversion connected by the payment systems of the two parties automatically at better exchange rates than other forms of payment.
• Vietcombank merchants follow the same fee policy as regular QR service, no additional fee for Thailand QR service.

QR THAILAND

"QR Thailand" is a service implemented by Vietnam National Payment Joint Stock Company (NAPAS) in cooperation with ITMX (Switching Organization in Thailand), helping member banks (including Vietcombank) to provide payment services by QR code at each other's network of merchants. The service is part of the bilateral cooperation between the State Bank of Vietnam and the Central Bank of Thailand.

Previously, from 06/03/2023, Vietcombank launched the Thailand QR payment feature right on VCB Digibank application at ThaiQR payment acceptance points, helping Vietnamese tourists when traveling to Thailand for business can shop and pay with the familiar VCB Digibank application for daily use.
