Vietcombank has once again been included among the 20 listed companies with the strongest sustainability performance in Việt Nam, according to the latest Vietnam Sustainability Index (VNSI) announced by the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE).
HOSE on July 20 released the constituent stocks for the 2026 Vietnam Sustainability Index, with Vietcombank maintaining its place in the top 20. The bank's continued inclusion in the index over multiple years reflects its long-term commitment to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into its business strategy and operations.
Following the Government's and the State Bank of Việt Nam's policy direction, Vietcombank has continued to optimise its credit portfolio by prioritising lending to production and business activities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), foreign-invested enterprises (FDI), and other priority sectors, while maintaining prudent controls over lending to higher-risk segments.
In March 2026, Vietcombank became one of the first banks in Việt Nam to adopt the Basel III Standardised Approach for risk management, bringing its governance framework closer to international banking standards.
The bank has also continued to play a key role in providing capital for the economy, particularly for priority sectors, manufacturing, trade, export-import activities and major infrastructure projects, supporting the country's sustainable economic growth.
As part of its sustainable finance strategy, Vietcombank successfully issued VNĐ4 trillion (US$153 million) worth of green and sustainability bonds during 2024 and 2025, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Việt Nam's transition towards greener and more sustainable growth.

In 2026, the bank further expanded initiatives linking finance with sustainable development through the launch of the Vietcombank Visa Hanoi Metro–MeGO co-branded card, aimed at promoting cashless payments on the capital city's urban transport system.
Vietcombank also became the first bank in Việt Nam to offer cross-border QR code payments via its VCB Digibank platform in more than 60 countries and territories through a partnership with Alipay+. The service is expected to enhance digital payment experiences for customers while supporting tourism, trade and cross-border commerce.

During the first half of 2026, the bank introduced several preferential lending programmes offering interest rates of up to two percentage points below the market average to support businesses and individuals.
In digital transformation, Vietcombank continued expanding its integration with the National Public Service Portal while providing digital payment solutions for government agencies, public service units and hundreds of hospitals. At the same time, it further developed its digital ecosystem to serve retail customers, businesses and household enterprises.
The bank said these initiatives are part of its broader strategy to combine sustainable business growth with responsible corporate governance and long-term value creation.
