Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Việt Nam (Vietcombank) is rolling out a range of measures to lower borrowing costs for businesses and individuals, in line with the Government’s policies and the State Bank of Vietnam’s guidance on reducing lending rates to support access to affordable credit, boost production and business activities, and promote economic growth.
From October 20, 2026, Vietcombank will cut its listed deposit interest rates by 0.5 percentage points per year for terms of six months or longer, following the central bank’s monetary policy direction. The move is expected to create more room for the bank to lower lending rates across the economy.
Meanwhile, from October 19 to December 31, 2026, Vietcombank is implementing a credit programme to promote production and business activities and support the development of priority sectors.
Under the programme, eligible customers will receive lending rate reductions of 1.5–2 percentage points per year, in line with the State Bank of Vietnam’s guidance. For certain sectors, short-term lending rates will be cut by up to 3 percentage points per year from Vietcombank’s prevailing rates.
Customers seeking further information about the programme and its eligibility requirements can contact Vietcombank branches nationwide for advice and support.
By proactively lowering deposit rates, reducing operating costs through technology adoption and sharing part of these savings with borrowers, Vietcombank is reaffirming its commitment to supporting businesses and individuals. The measures are intended to improve the flow of credit and create fresh momentum for economic growth.
In recent years, Vietcombank has been among the banks at the forefront of implementing credit programmes in line with Government policies and State Bank of Vietnam guidance. These initiatives have focused on priority sectors, emerging growth drivers and activities that support sustainable development.
Building on its role as one of Việt Nam’s leading commercial banks, Vietcombank will continue providing comprehensive financial solutions, competitively priced funding and products aligned with digital transformation, green transition and environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.
These efforts are aimed at strengthening business competitiveness, improving individuals’ access to credit and helping create new drivers of sustainable economic growth in the years ahead.
