In her opening remarks, Phung Nguyen Hai Yen, Deputy CEO of Vietcombank and Chairwoman of the Headquarters Trade Union, emphasized the importance of continuing the teachings of Ho Chi Minh on tree planting and the philosophy of sustainable development: “For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people.”

Over its 63 years of development, Vietcombank has remained committed to its five core cultural values - Trust, Standardisation, Innovation, Sustainability, and Humanity - while actively promoting responsibility toward the community and the environment. The bank continues to work toward its goal of becoming a green, sustainable institution that serves society.

Earlier, on March 1, 2026, at the Yen Tu Scenic Area, Vietcombank officially launched the 2026 tree-planting Festival. This marks the fifth consecutive year the programme has been held, celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress and National Unity Day (March 15). At the launch ceremony, Mr Nguyen Thanh Tung, Chairman of Vietcombank’s Board of Directors, reaffirmed that the initiative is not only an annual activity but also a clear demonstration of the bank’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

The 2026 tree-planting festival once again highlights the unity, social responsibility, and patriotism of Vietcombank’s teams, while contributing to the preservation of a clean and green environment. Each tree planted today represents a seed for a more sustainable future - helping build a greener, more prosperous Vietnam in harmony with nature in the country’s new era of development.
