Vietcombank has officially announced the rollout of its Click to Pay (CTP) feature for all individual cardholders using Visa-branded cards, including both debit and credit cards. The move marks a significant step in Vietcombank’s adoption of advanced technologies to enhance the online shopping experience while strengthening customer security.
Faster online payments with just a few clicks
Click to Pay is an online payment solution built on global standards developed by EMVCo. With this feature, Vietcombank Visa cardholders can complete purchases at participating online merchants worldwide displaying the Click to Pay icon - without the need to manually enter card details such as card number or expiration date for every transaction.
Users simply access their saved cards via their registered phone number and authenticate using a one-time password (OTP) on first use. This significantly shortens checkout time and reduces the risk of errors or data exposure compared to repeatedly entering card information across different online merchants.
Enhanced security with tokenisation technology
Security remains a top priority for Vietcombank. Click to Pay leverages Visa’s Token Service (VTS), which replaces sensitive card information with unique digital identifiers, or “tokens.” This tokenisation technology helps safeguard customer data from theft during transactions, while also improving authorisation rates and reducing online fraud.
Easy activation and management via VCB Digibank
Vietcombank offers seamless management of the Click to Pay feature through its VCB Digibank app:
- Automatic setup: Newly issued Visa cards activated via VCB Digibank will have Click to Pay enabled by default.
- Flexible control: Existing cardholders can easily register for or deactivate Click to Pay for each card directly within the app.
Supporting customers in the digital era
The launch of Click to Pay is part of Vietcombank’s broader digital transformation strategy and its efforts to promote cashless payments. In partnership with Visa, the bank plans to introduce attractive promotional campaigns starting in May 2026 to encourage customers to adopt this new payment method.
This initiative further reinforces Vietcombank’s leading position in delivering modern, secure, and personalised digital financial solutions that meet the evolving demands of customers in the digital economy.
