In response to the severe impacts of Storm No. 3 (Storm Yagi) on many northern provinces and cities, the Vietcombank Trade Union’s Standing Committee has mobilized all union members and employees to donate at least one day’s salary each. This initiative, rooted in the spirit of “sharing food and clothes” and promoting Vietcombank’s core cultural values and the nation’s tradition of “mutual love and support,” has raised an estimated VND10 billion across the entire Vietcombank system.

Despite suffering significant losses, Vietcombank branches in the affected areas have promptly responded to ensure the safety of people and property. They have quickly addressed losses and incidents, maintained continuous operations, and provided seamless services to customers. The branches have also proactively gathered information about customers who have suffered losses, collaborated with them to find solutions, and actively participated with local authorities to support the community. Their efforts aim to help people overcome the storm’s consequences, stabilize their lives and production activities, and provide timely support in the spirit of “The leaves protect tattered ones.”

Representing the banking sector, Mr Dao Minh Tu, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam and Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, presented VND38.4 billion at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee’s launch ceremony to support people affected by Storm No. 3

Earlier, on September 10, 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee initiated a campaign to support those affected by Storm No. 3. Vietcombank contributed VND2 billion, joining forces with the Banking Trade Union to help people overcome the storm’s aftermath.
