From March 10, 2024, to ensure financial safety for customers, Vietcombank will stop providing VCB Digibank services on hooked Android devices.

1. What is a hook?

Hooks are techniques that use some special tools to interfere with the execution flow of the application, which in turn can collect data or alter the normal behavior of the application.

2. Instructions for checking hooked devices

To check if the device is hooked or not, customers open VCB Digibank application version 5.6.8 on Android devices and check the following message:

• If the device is not hooked : There is no notification, the system allows the customer to use the application normally.
• If the device is hooked: The system displays a notification to the customer about the device's safety risk and exits the application.
• If you are using another version, please Update VCB Digibank to the latest version (version 5.6.8) on Play store. 

3. How can I continue to use VCB Digibank's services?

In case you find that your Android device is hooked, you need to factory reset the device immediately to remove all malicious code installed underground in the device.
