Vietcombank issues a warning about a new form of fraud through SMS messages.

The period leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) is always a time when complex financial fraud and scams tend to increase, with perpetrators becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Especially recently, there has been a form of fraud involving impersonation through bank-related SMS messages, tricking customers into clicking on links within the messages to steal information related to electronic banking services and to take money from customers' accounts.

To safeguard against these forms of fraud and ensure the safety of your transactions, please take note of the following:

1.Never access links or click on links in messages or emails that appear unfamiliar or from unknown sources. Vietcombank will never ask customers to provide their security information through any means.

2.Only log in to electronic banking services through Vietcombank's official website at https://portal.vietcombank.com.vn/.

3.Limit the use of public computers and public Wi-Fi networks when accessing electronic banking systems.

4.Do not share your username, online banking password, OTP (One-Time Password), or credit card number via phone, email, social media, or any websites.

5.Set strong, unpredictable passwords, change them regularly, and do so if you suspect they may have been compromised. Do not use the same password for online banking, email, or social media accounts.

6.Sign up for balance change notifications.

7.Register for the use of Smart OTP authentication when conducting online transactions.

8.Regularly monitor and update security alerts related to online payment security from service providers and public media.

To ensure that you stay informed about safe transaction instructions, Vietcombank has created a "Safe Transactions" section on the bank's official website. Please refer to this section for detailed information.

Please remain vigilant and prioritize security in all your financial transactions.
