Vietcombank partners with Tien Phong Newspaper to build six gratitude houses for veterans in HCM City

On March 7, 2026, in Dong Thanh Commune and Cu Chi Commune in HCM City, Tien Phong Newspaper, in coordination with local authorities, held a ceremony to present funding for the construction of six gratitude houses for veteran families facing difficult circumstances. The programme was supported by Vietcombank with a total contribution of VND600 million, helping to promote gratitude and social responsibility toward those who have served the nation.

This activity is part of the series of events under the Red Sunday 2026 programme initiated by Tien Phong Newspaper.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Hoang Tung, Deputy CEO of Vietcombank, emphasized: “Honouring the past is not only an act of gratitude but also a foundation for building a better future for the community. For Vietcombank, actively participating in social welfare and charitable activities is not only a corporate responsibility but also a heartfelt commitment shared by our employees across the entire system.”

The donation of six gratitude houses is part of a broader series of social welfare initiatives that Vietcombank has been implementing in HCM City. Over the past five years, the bank has allocated approximately VND350 billion to community support programms across the city.

In early March 2026 alone, Vietcombank launched a series of social welfare activities in the northwest area of HCM City with a total budget of nearly VND3 billion. At Division 9 in Cu Chi, the bank presented 145 gift packages to children of military families facing financial difficulties and provided 300 gift packages to families of young men preparing for military service in the communes of Ba Diem, An Nhon Tay, Nhuan Duc, and Phu Hoa Dong.

In addition, Vietcombank funded the construction of 11 “Great Solidarity Houses,” sponsored three STEM classrooms worth VND10 billion, provided VND1 billion for medical equipment, and distributed 200 gift packages to families in Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts.
