Young bowling champion Trần Hoàng Khôi receives an award from Vietcombank’s leadership.

At just 16 years old, Trần Hoàng Khôi secured Việt Nam’s first-ever SEA Games gold medal in men’s singles bowling, contributing to the national team’s strong overall performance of 87 gold medals and a third-place finish in the medal standings. His historic achievement earned him a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, recognising him as one of the country’s 15 most outstanding athletes, and a place among the 10 representatives of Vietnamese sports attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

Trần Hoàng Khôi is the son of Phan Phương Anh, Head of the Administration and Human Resources Division and Vice Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union at Vietcombank Sài Gòn. Prior to the ceremony, Khôi and his family visited Vietcombank’s Traditional Room to learn more about the bank’s history and core values, where his mother has been working.

At the event, Phùng Nguyễn Hải Yến, Deputy General Director of Vietcombank, praised the young athlete’s achievement. “Trần Hoàng Khôi’s success is not only a personal victory, but also a powerful testament to the talent, perseverance and resilience of the younger generation,” she said. “Encouraging learning and nurturing talent have long been an integral part of Vietcombank’s culture, reflecting our deep care for young people and for the families of our employees — the strong foundation that helps nurture talent for the nation.”

He also expressed sincere thanks to Vietcombank’s leadership and trade union for their encouragement, saying it would motivate him to continue training and pursue even greater goals in the future.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for the wider Vietcombank community to share in the pride of the determination and competitive spirit shown by employees’ children. Trần Hoàng Khôi’s success stands as a strong source of inspiration for the next generation of “Vietcombank DNA” to strive for excellence across all fields.

The timely recognition of young talent once again underscores Vietcombank’s commitment to caring for employees’ spiritual well-being, fostering a connected and humane working environment, and accompanying the holistic development of future generations.
