From 01/07/2026, the order approver of institutional customers needs to update biometric information so that online transactions can be carried out smoothly and safely.

According to the provisions of Circular 77/2025/TT-NHNN dated 31/12/2025 (amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 50/2024/TT-NHNN dated 31/10/2024) on safety and security for the provision of online services in the banking industry, from 01/07/2026, customers established within 12 months are required to apply authentication with biometric information of the person approving the final order. combined with SmartOTP or Hard Token when confirming online transactions on VCB DigiBiz and VCB-iB@nking.

Applicable Transactions

• Money transfer within Vietcombank system (excluding money transfer between accounts of the same account holder)
• Fast money transfer 24/7
• Cash transfer, charity transfer
• Bill payment, QR payment, shopping, state budget remittance
• Deposit

Transaction value to be authenticated by biometrics

• The transaction has an amount of over 50 million VND; or
• Transactions with an amount of VND 50 million or less but the total accumulated amount of transactions during the day on a current account exceeds VND 100 million.
Important Notes
• For VCB-iB@nking, the person who approves the final order is the legal representative of the organization.
• The update applies to the order approver who is a Vietnamese individual who already has: (i) Citizen ID card with chip/ID card; or (ii) level 2 electronic identification account (VNeID) and the latest updated version of the VNeID application.

Updated Instructions

Order reviewers who are using VCB DigiBiz and VCB-iB@nking can update biometric information in two ways:

• In case of using VCB Digibank: Vietnamese individuals who have a citizen ID card with a chip/ID card or level 2 electronic identification account (VNeID) (with the latest version of the VNeID application) can update their biometric information right on the VCB Digibank application.
• The remaining cases: The order approver makes updates at Vietcombank's transaction points nationwide.

• What is Biometrics? It is an authentication method based on each person's biological characteristics, the most common is the face, which helps ensure that the owner makes the transaction.
• What is a Final Order Reviewer? Being the person with the final approval authority for the transaction to be carried out; for VCB-iB@nking being the legal representative of the organization.

The State Bank of Vietnam's compliance with this regulation helps you improve the security of your current account, and at the same time contributes to preventing fraudulent acts, especially the unauthorized transfer of money to accounts that are taken advantage of.
