Vietcombank announced to stop providing VCB Digibank, VCB DigiBiz services on devices with signs of risk

Implementing the provisions of Circular 77/2025/TT-NHNN of the State Bank of Vietnam on safety and security for the provision of online services in the banking industry, from 01/03/2026, Vietcombank announce that we will stop providing services on devices with signs of security risks.

Specifically, the VCB Digibank and VCB DigiBiz applications will automatically exit or stop working on devices that encounter the following problems:

  •  Use an emulator/debugger environment/virtual machine/emulator to run the VCB Digibank/VCB DigiBiz application.
  • Application software that is injected with code outside the application (hook) or application software that is interfered with or repackaged (repacking).
  • The device has been rooted/jailbroken; or have the protection mechanism unlocked (unlock bootloader).

EQUIPMENT TEST INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Update the latest version of the banking application on the application markets (VCB Digibank version 6.3.7 or VCB DigiBiz version 1.3.6).
Step 2: Open the VCB Digibank/VCB DigiBiz application to check the status:

  • If the device is secure: You use the app normally.
  • If the device shows signs of risk: The system will display a warning about the risk of insecurity and automatically exit the application to protect your account.

Vietcombank recommends that customers should use mobile devices with the original operating system, do not install applications from unfamiliar sources (APK files, strange links, etc.) to ensure safe transactions.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING WHEN THE DEVICE SHOWS SIGNS OF RISK

In case the device is detected with signs of suspected risk, you need to:

  •  Changing other equipment is the original one, which meets the manufacturer's security standards.
  •  In case of continuing to use the current device, you need to contact the device manufacturer or the unit that sells/repairs the device for assistance in checking and fixing the condition of the device.
