On the afternoon of August 11, 2025, Nhân Dân (People) Newspaper, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, held a press conference to announce the nationwide walking event “March Forward with Vietnam,” marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2), and the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19).

Mrs. Đoàn Hồng Nhung, Member of the Board of Management and Director of Retail Banking at Vietcombank said: “March Forward with Vietnam is a community initiative of unprecedented scale and meaning. For the first time, a walking event will take place simultaneously from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on August 16, 2025, across 34 provinces and cities, reaching 3,321 communes, wards, and special administrative areas nationwide.”

From July 25 to August 16, 2025, the public can register online via the official portal at cungvietnamtienbuoc.nhandan.vn.

As a key programme partner, Vietcombank has committed VND3 billion and is calling on customers to join in spreading the “One Billion Green Steps” message by making donations to the “March Forward with Vietnam” account under the Vietnam Children’s Protection Fund. From August 5 to September 3, 2025, Vietcombank is also running a promotional campaign with a budget of VND2.4 billion to encourage new customers to support disadvantaged students.

Through the “One Billion Green Steps” initiative, Vietcombank aims to unite millions of Vietnamese hearts, share humanitarian values, and inspire positive energy to help the nation advance into a new era.

Launched on August 5, 2025, the initiative has already seen strong participation, with Vietcombank customers contributing VND600 million to the “March Forward with Vietnam” fund within the first week. At the conclusion of the campaign, Vietcombank will publicly announce the total amount raised on its official website and social media channels.
