In recent days, Vietcombank has received reports from customers about:
- Scammers send SMS messages pretending to be from Vietcombank, notifying customers that their loyalty points are expiring and instructing them on how to redeem gifts. These messages contain suspicious links such as: vietcomm.top, vieetcom.top, viettcamd.top-vn, viettcad.top, vietcommbank.top, etc.
- If customers click on the link in the message, they will be redirected to a fake Vietcombank website and asked to follow instructions to claim a reward or receive a refund from loyalty points.
- If customers enter their personal information, card number, or OTP code, scammers can steal the data to make unauthorized transactions or link the card to their mobile device, ultimately taking control of the customer's funds.
This is a common form of brand impersonation scam, which has been previously warned against by both Vietcombank and regulatory authorities.
VIETCOMBANK WOULD LIKE TO REMIND ALL CUSTOMERS:
- NEVER share sensitive information (such as card details or OTP codes) with anyone. Vietcombank will never request such information in any form.
- NEVER click on suspicious links sent via email, text messages, or social media. Vietcombank DOES NOT send emails or messages containing embedded links to customers.
- Always carefully read OTP notification messages to detect any irregularities. The OTP message clearly states the purpose of use (for example, OTP for linking to a digital wallet)
- If you have accidentally entered your card information on a fake website, immediately lock your card and report the incident to Vietcombank for assistance.
- Only contact Vietcombank or access information through official channels.
